At Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia, the tops of many huge granite rocks are covered in black. At first, I thought they were just "polluted" from acid rain. It wasn't until I saw little puddles of tar on rock after rock that I realized what the black coating was ... it is tar from an oil spill. Here is one such puddle of tar which looked to me like the earth weeping ... pollution breaks my heart ...
