After dinner in Socorro, we drove west to visit the "Very Large Array." We arrived just after sunset. Even though I didn't have my tripod, I asked my poor mother to bear the cold and get out of the car so I could use the roof as a mount to hold the camera still enough to capture the beauty of the moon as it hung over the huge dish in the twilight.
