After Hurricane Wilma faded into a mere storm and joined with a low pressure system coming from the west, a windy, rainy day and night passed only to dawn a truly amazing few hours early the following morning. The break in the weather only lasted a short a few hours and I was so thankful for the opportunity to take a walk during that time. By the time "Paved with gold" was taken, the clouds were rolling back in again. What a glorious morning!

Through North Alton, Nova Scotia, Canada, runs a river flowing from the Kentville water supply. This stone structure must be what is left from an old water treatment plant (or ... something other than a house). Nearby there are some old rusty iron gears as well as a long cement pipe that disappears into the hill in the direction of the water supply and is obviously no longer functional.
