I was interested to learn that the fall colors come as the chlorophyll in the leaves breaks down, causing the green color to disappear, and the yellow to orange colors become visible. Other chemical changes in the leaf may increase the reds in sugar maples along with other factors such as moisture, light and temperature affect the degree and duration of the color. God even makes death beautiful!
